Susan Hall | West Marin

Malila is a Miwok name meaning "fast salmon swimming up a rippling stream." This small plate by ceramicist and painter Susan Hall of Point Reyes Station is thrown and then hand-painted. Earthy and rustic, with undulating waves and an etched rim that recalls the scales of a fish, the Malila Plate is ideal for a snack or side salad. Susan is inspired by the mystery of Northern Californian landscapes, so it is no surprise that this plate is an oceanic terrain unto itself. A special edition of the Malila Plate was created for Edition Local.
